Slovenia - 62nd Cows' Ball
The Cows’ Ball in Bohinj, Slovenia, is a traditional annual event in autumn, to celebrate the cows’ return from the pastures of the Julian Alps back to the valley. For this occasion, the cows are decorated with flowers. Highlight of the event is a short parade through the streets, when the cows are accompanied by herdsmen and herdswomen. This tradition has been celebrated for more than 60 years and has turned into an event for the entire valley, with folk dance, music, eating and drinking. September 2019
